Our story

Most budget apps assume you live in Ohio.

Dudget is for everyone else. The freelancer in Manila paid in three currencies. The student in Lagos whose bank no app supports. The American who simply doesn't want a third party holding their transaction history. We built a budget that works on a phone, in any currency, fully offline.

The problem nobody outside the US talks about

Almost every budget app sold today is built on bank sync. You hand over your banking login, a service called Plaid reads your transactions, and the app categorizes them for you. It feels like magic, until you notice who it works for.

Plaid-style bank sync only reaches the US, Canada, the UK, and a handful of European countries. For roughly four billion people, the "just connect your bank" onboarding screen is a dead end. And even where it works, you are trusting a third party with your banking password, on a connection the app maker pays for and quietly bills back to you.

We didn't want to build a slightly different budget app. We wanted to build the one that works everywhere, forever, without asking for your bank login.

So Dudget went the other direction. Type the amount, pick a category, done, two taps, about ten seconds. It works on a fourteen-hour flight. It works in a currency the big apps have never heard of. And because there is no server holding your data, there is nothing for anyone to leak.

What we believe

Four rules we won't break.

Your data stays on your phone

Transactions live in an encrypted database on your device. We have no server that can see them, which means we can't sell them, lose them, or get subpoenaed for them.

Works for the whole world

Over 30 currencies with live rates, flexible pay periods, and regional pricing, so Pro costs what's fair in Manila, Mumbai, or São Paulo, not what's fair in San Francisco.

Fast beats clever

No dashboards you'll never read. One number at the top of every screen, your safe-to-spend, and a two-tap path to log anything. The best budget is the one you actually keep using.

Honestly priced

A budget app charging $100 a year is its own kind of joke. Dudget is free to use for real, and Pro is $24.99 a year when you want multi-budget, charts, and cloud backup.

Who's behind it

A small team, a stubborn idea.

Dudget is built by a tiny independent team that got tired of recommending budget apps to friends abroad and watching every one of them hit the same wall: no bank support, no local currency, a subscription priced for a Bay Area salary.

We're not venture-funded and we're not trying to become a bank. We make money one honest way, a low-cost Pro subscription, so we never have to make money the other way, by monetizing your financial data. That single decision shapes everything else about how Dudget is built.
